Discovery and protein engineering of a Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenase for enhancing catalytic efficiency

Results Analysis:

1. A Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenase from Cupriavidus basilensis was obtained with gene mining, showing activities towards 12 kinds of sulfides.

2. Via directed evolution and rational design, a varaint BVMOv4showed 25-fold improvement in specific activity and 71.3 % increase in conversion compared with WT(Fig2-4).
